Writing Soundtrack

I know, it’s been a while since I posted.  I didn’t have a concept to get me through October like the alien visitation theme I rode through September.  I also decided that I would participate in NaNoWriMo this year, and spent more of my “writing” time thinking about my writing, and where I would want it to go.

There’s definitely a sci-fi connection to this excuse – my story is what I would call “space noir” in its original concept, though through my first two days, the mood of my murder mystery is less Sam Spade, and more Scooby Doo.

I have a writing soundtrack – those tunes that just keep you pushing right along.  Sure, I could have gone with a classic score – something like Star Trek, or pretty much anything by John Williams.  Instead, I filled a USB drive with essentially a ‘roided up version of the soundtrack for Guardians of the Galaxy (and I included the Guardians soundtrack on my drive).

It might not be cinematic, or space opera-tic in nature, but I’m thinking the Super Hits of the Seventies set the exact mood I’m looking for.  I’ll try to post a review or observation from time to time, and I’ll let you know how the novel is going – when I’m more than two days into it.
